The Elite by Kiera Cass (This review contains a few mild spoilers)
Let me just begin this review saying that I don’t complain about books often, most of the books I read are really good and I only ever have like minor issues.
I waited ten months for this book. I drove an hour away to buy it. Took money out of my Disney fund to pay for it. And I pulled an all-nighter to read it. And it was definitely not worth it. Oh man.
The whole book was just like many giant circles with a few tidbits and answers thrown in. It was seriously a waste of a good hundred or so pages.
This book pretty much picked up where the last one left off. Maxon has picked his Elite and America is still trying to decide between him and Aspen. She basically spends most of the book making up her mind and then changing it and asking for more time to decide.
All of the characters basically lost who they were. (Except perhaps Marlee and Celeste) and like. Oh. Wow.
My feels have been brutally murdered. I was so excited for this book and SO LET DOWN.
NO ONE and I mean NO ONE is who they were in the first one. They took away practically all of America’s fire. All of Aspen’s fight (except for the little bit that was obnoxious and annoying) and all of Maxon’s innocence.
So, in the midst of trying to decide if she wants Maxon or Aspen…. America finally takes a stand against what’s going on with the caste system and how messed up it is. And then… Wait for it…. CHANGES HER MIND AND REGRETS THE WHOLE THING. *smacks head against wall*
Okay, lets end this with some of the things I DID like.
1. America’s father.
2. The dresses.
3. America’s maids.
4. The dresses.
5. The Italian’s (the only people doing it right)
And yeah, that’s about all.
I’d love to say more but I really don’t want to spoil the entire book! Everyone reads things differently and this was just not a good book for me. But hey! Maybe you liked it! I’d love to hear your thoughts! You can message me here  or here.
